Please join us for an opening gathering to see the fall elementary art exhibit at Jones Library in Amherst on Thursday, January 19 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Art Specialist May Emery posed the following question to the elementary students to guide their work for the semester: "How does art help us understand the lives of people of different times, places, and cultures?"

The fall art learning program explored this question by investigating and developing awareness of perceptions, knowledge, and experiences of people, places, and moments in history. Students were encouraged to observe and think critically about selected works of art from Van Gogh to Wassily Kandinsky. Come to Jones Library to explore what our students discovered and created.

The exhibit is open to the public from January 4 through the end of January and we hope you'll take time to come see it on your own or with us on Thursday, January 19th.
