Inclusion
Our Inclusivity & Engagement Commitment
Amherst Montessori School aims to foster a welcoming learning environment and community through education and inclusive practices, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Dr. Maria Montessori saw her pedagogy as a means toward a more just and peaceful world and we are commited to her philosophy and practice. At its core, Montessori education supports children in developing empathy, understanding differing points of view and valuing social justice, all of which are essential qualities for building just and inclusive communities.
Amherst Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, socioeconomic status, gender, gender identity and/or expression, age, sexual orientation, religion, culture, nationality, ability, or ethnic origin in the administration of its admissions policies, educational programs, hiring practices, financial aid or other school-administered programs.
